Note to Dudes: Time to Upgrade Your Dance Moves!

Breaking in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

A new scientific study suggests that good dancing may be a sign of male health. Men’s dance moves might give women subconscious information about their general health, age, reproductive potential, and hormone status.

How exactly is “good dancing” defined? According to one of the researchers:

We thought that people’s arms and legs would be really important. The kind of expressive gestures the hands [make], for example. But in fact this was not the case…We found that (women paid more attention to) the core body region: the torso, the neck, the head. It was not just the speed of the movements, it was also the variability of the movement. So someone who is twisting, bending, moving, nodding.

Okay, so what qualifies as bad dancing?:

Movements that went down terribly were twitchy and repetitive – so called “Dad dancing”.

Oh boy–them’s fightin’ words! How do you think us dads got to be dads in the first place?! How dare they use us as the paragon for unattractiveness on the dance floor!

As for me, I personally boast one of the sexiest dance-floor head-nods around. My wife had no chance against its Darwinian powers of sexual attractiveness.
